Role

Charles specialises in commercial dispute resolution. He has worked in this area of the law for over 15 years and has dealt with a wide range of commercial contract disputes, commercial landlord and tenant disputes, professional negligence claims, partnership disputes and regulatory prosecutions.

He has acted for clients both in the Milton Keynes area and further afield. These include foreign multinationals, substantial institutional clients, plcs as well as SME’s and small businesses

Experience

Charles has dealt with many High Court cases including cases in the Technology and Construction Court. He has acted in a number of commercial arbitrations and has also dealt with construction adjudications.

Charles is experienced in dealing with commercial mediations and has successfully settled a number of substantial disputes for clients by utilising the mediation process.

His recent cases have included: - 

• the successful recovery of £70,000 in respect of dilapidation costs relating to retail leasehold premises
• dealing with a tripartite dispute involving a Belgian company over design defects in a product
• mediating a dispute over defects in equipment supplied by a German company via a UK installer

Interests

Charles has two very active children and two equally active dogs. He and his son are regular supporters of MK Dons. Charles is also a governor of his local secondary school.
