Born and educated in London, Barbara lives, works and practices in Bedfordshire. She is the founder member of Artists Network Bedfordshire which is now in its sixth year.

She studied art and design at St. Albans School of Art between 1991 and 1992 and Fine Art at the University of Hertfordshire between 1992 and 1996, graduating with an Honours Degree in Sculpture. She has had solo shows and curated another on the theme of "A Woman's Work" for International Women's Day shown in Bedford in 1999. She continues to exhibit not only her sculpture but also painting and photography.

"I consider myself primarily a sculptor, with a love of painting and a need to photograph. My sculpture and painting have focused upon domestic topics - family, mothering and the home. I like to make, construct, distort or invent in sculpture. My work is often strongly influenced by handicrafts practised at home when I was a child, including woodwork, knitting and sewing. My painting is something I shall never stop learning and need to do. I love colour, rhythm and movement in all things and pathos. Currently I am working on a series of paintings based upon Barcelona, a long over-due project brought about because I cannot get the place out of my head".

Barbara also does studio photography work and will expertly photograph any art work which artists might require for their publicity. She also takes photographs for insurance purposes.
