James Falvey works in acrylic and mixed media, adapting his technique to suit the end result he is pursuing. He has been collecting reference material for thirty eight years, and painting from it for one.
His influences come from all aspects of popular culture - books, films, television, music - and his work is often presented in a minimalist style with a strong compositional element. The only restriction he places on himself is that each piece must be different from the last.
His computer generated images of modern humorists, replete with titles that read as bad puns, have proved a popular departure from his usual medium. So popular he feels compelled to stop them.
James lists his interests as painting, music, and writing about himself in the third person.
