I was born in Karachi but have lived in East Anglia for most of my life. After an Oxford MA in History I did a PGCE at Warwick University, and later gained a City and Guilds qualification in Creative Embroidery. I have worked as a teacher, secretary and CAB adviser, while designing, making and selling textiles. I later graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with a degree in Art and Design, and have had a variety of solo and group exhibitions in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

My aim is to produce "images to delight the eye and provoke thought, reflecting the positive in life". I work in a variety of media, including oil, water-colour, collage and textiles. Some paintings have been inspired by the sea, fish and their environment. The flow of water and the ripple of weeds, vibrant fishes and static shells, tenacious tentacles and brilliant colours - all play their part in the ever-changing world of sea and shore. Other paintings are abstract, with representational forms giving way to a pattern of flat areas of colour, integrating the play of lines and planes to display an abstract system of forms and colours, and give the work a visual strength and rhythm.

Visitors are welcome to my studio - but please phone first on 01763 261362 to arrange a mutually convenient time.
