Nina first studied Art at
Barnfield College in 1979 - 1980 where she took 'A' level Life
Drawing as part of a foundation course. After this she went on to
train in Graphic Design at Dunstable College. Upon leaving college
she became a freelance Graphic Designer, which she has been doing
ever since. She started painting in 1995 after she took an evening
course in watercolour painting. Now she paints and draws whenever
she has a spare moment. Nina's subject matter is vast, she paints
anything that appeals to her and in any material she can find. She
loves to experiment with new techniques and ideas, her motto being
'I will try anything once!'. In 1997 she took a City & Guilds in
welding at Barnfield College and has gone on to produce various
sculptures in steel.
As a Graphic Designer she
was well practiced in signwriting & hand lettering
and has adapted these skills into her mural work. She has worked on
many
murals in & around Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire and in
November 1999 she was awarded a Design Award for her Park Town
Subway mural in Luton. Nina has displayed her work in numerous shows
and exhibitions. She has permanent space on the walls of Boots Cafe
in Luton's Arndale Centre.
