The painter Oscar Alitta lives and works in England in Leighton Buzzard in the Bedfordshire.

Born in Turin on the 1929, he has lived in his own native city, and also in Florence, where he is initiated the maturation of his artistic vein. The desire of always unusual and new landscapes, incite him to travel for Argentina, where he has lived through 6 years between the 1964 and the 1970. In 1973/75 he has lived in Kenya. In 1984 has moved in England with his wife Edda, where them still lives.

Certainly Oscar Alitta already from his biography appears a not very common person. His trips never purposes to one self, as his frequent contact with art people and of deferent culture, makes us known his gasp to the discovery from new sceneries, his desire of don't stop his own artistic and cultural growth. And improve his own ability of read and perform the belongingness of the life.

All that, besides at unquestionable technical competence, does him an Art Maestro of planetary greatness.

We proposes a personal exhibition with his recent work, surrealists with its strong and brilliant colours. A set of productions that draws aside origin from an idea and a production of the 1979. Who the Maestro introduced at Rivoli, Torino, in a personal exhibition, where he had been sold in only four days, 34 painting. That success was followed by years of elaboration and careful consideration and art growing. During those years, he had studied and realized the sketches of the pictures that only recently, Oscar Alitta has painted, and them was only one part of his art studies.

Psycho-unreal canvases, absurd in the reality of the sketch and yet able of transmit soon their disarming message. That is then the nature of the man, his imprisoned struggle in the thin line of boundary between the earth and the sky. His gasp for liberty and space. Is not by accident that the human figure is in the centre of those pictures. An imagines however stylised, reduced of dimensions, monochrome. The Maestro above all, devote his attention to the background, to the scenery in which unwinds the action, to the sky, painted with Arthurian minuteness almost to want exasperate the contrast between the reality and the dream, between the being and the pant, between the immanent fatigue of exist and the transcendent lightness of the man, that has overcome the barrier between the earth and the sky. The man has learned to measure the own distance from the stars, and he has become resident of the cosmos, of it endless spaces and silences, but he has not lost the awareness of himself and his own nature. Systematic and distinctive is in these works, the entry of the light from the left top corner and seem on the point of flooding on the cloth, in the same way in which the rising sun invades the night. Is a warm reassuring light, that is perceive not only with the eye, but like a electric current winds the body in a tactile feeling of an embrace. Is the light of an outside star and is it voice, the voice of the cosmos that tells as the man' nature.

It is this peculiar light the point of the Alitta'elaboration, who propose over our own nature, an difficulty goal but coherent effort: the man could see the light because him need it, and it is the animates the perennial search of what many calls transcendence. Something of mystical that, without discommode the religion, and perhaps, quite for that, could represent and give sense to our life.
