Steve Bowers is 51 years of age. His semi-professional experience covers 31 years of oil and acrylic mediums. Steve has taught art in several colleges in the Bedford area. He is now currently working on his fifth one man show for Swanbourne House, Buckinghamshire. A further two exhibitions are to be staged in Bedford in 1999.

Steve paints in the conventional style of most widely known artists, but recently has created a new figurative style which has been described as bold, simple and rather unique. It is arousing great interest wherever it is shown.

David Lambert, the Bedford Arts Officer, has said of Steve’s work :-

"Steve’s quirky acrylic and oil paintings have captured the imagination of old and young alike with their bold use of colour and simplified images of people. Steve’s work deserves to be seen by the widest cross section of the community as possible. His observations of everyday life using his unique style will bring a smile to everyone."
